Alumni seeking information about classmates may send email to rcannito@fairlawnschools.org.

Should I send information about someone else?
If you are aware of the death of an alumni who was a
member of your family or a very close friend, we would
appreciate that information as well. Please don't inform us
about deaths you may have heard about over the years, as
such information may not always be accurate.
What information should I include?
Please include the following only:

Last name at graduation
Current last name (if different than name at
graduation)
First name
Address
Phone number (if desired)

The Alumni
Directory
In 1996, The Fair Lawn High School
Alumni Directory 1945-1995 was published by The Graduate
Connection, a subsidiary of the Bernard C. Harris Publishing
Company of Norfolk, Virginia. The staff and students of the
library worked closely with the Harris Company, supplying
information from our collection of yearbooks. There are no
more copies of the original Directory for sale or
other distribution.
The second edition of The Alumni
Directory was published in 2001. It includes alumni
through the class of 2000. Harris Publishing uses the name
of its division The Graduate Connection as the
contact agency between the publisher and the alumni. The
Graduate Connection is authorized to work with our school in
order to collect information about our alumni. No one is
required to participate. There is no cost involved in having
your information listed.
The third edition of the directory was
published in 2006. It includes alumni through the
class of 2005.
The Graduate Connection offered copies of
the completed book for sale. There are no copies left for
sale at this time. All copies of the Directory are sold by
the publisher only, through pre-sales. The high school does not sell the books
(or the CD-ROMs, which were also available), and receives no
profit from their publication. Alumni whose sons or
daughters attend the high school may borrow a copy of the
book, or a copy of the CD-ROM (as they would borrow any book
or other item from the library.)
There is also an online version of the
Alumni Directory; however, the school has no details about
that product at this time.
Here in the library, The Alumni
Directory serves as a valuable index to our collection
of more than 60 years' worth of yearbooks. Alumni groups
often refer to it when planning reunions. Individuals
purchased copies of the first edition to re-establish
contacts with high school friends.
Information in the Directory which is
incorrect can be updated by contacting the Alumni Office.
Harris has supplied us with software which allows us to make
corrections which will be automatically incorporated into
future editions of the Directory. The best way to send
updated information is through email at
rcannito@fairlawnschools.org.
The information in The Alumni Directory
is NOT authorized by the high school or the Board of
Education for use in sales or marketing of any kind;
however, there is no legal means by which unauthorized
persons can be prevented from doing so. Once published, the
information becomes public information. It is intended
purely for the information of fellow alumni, and all the
information within the Directory has been supplied by
the individuals listed. The initial lists used by The
Graduate Connection to locate alumni are the index pages
found in the back of each high school yearbook, which is
public information.
Yearbooks
The library maintains a complete
collection of high school yearbooks. Although these cannot
be borrowed, alumni are welcome to call the library at
201-794-5450 x2428 to arrange to visit and use the yearbooks, and
we will photocopy single pages upon request.
We have recently been able to offer past
yearbooks for sale, and this has been very successful for
both the library and for alumni seeking books. However, as
of June 2005, limitations placed on the library and its
facilities by the high school's extensive construction and
renovation project made it necessary to place these
yearbooks into storage, where they were unavailable
to us until the opening of the new library. Although the new
library opened in January, 2007, the yearbooks continue to
be unavailable, as our storage areas have not yet been
equipped with shelving.
We regret the inconvenience that this may
cause to alumni. We hope to resume all regular library
services as soon as possible. Your patience is appreciated.
Reunions
The library also collects information
regarding upcoming reunions which are being handled by a New
Jersey company that arranges and plans high school reunions.
Often, class groups who are organizing reunions on their
own, without the service of the reunion company, will
provide information to us as well. However, not every class
will inform us of their reunion date, or even that a reunion
is taking place. Available current information appears
below. To find out more about a listed reunion, or to
inquire about a possible reunion that is not listed, please
contact the reunion company(below) or the listed contact, if
given, directly.
Please note that the school, the library,
and the alumni office are not involved in reunions in any
way other than to provide this information as a service.
All the information we have is posted here.
Reunions Unlimited
in Englishtown, 732-617-1000 is currently managing
- Class of 1973 - October 18, 2008
- Class of 1978 - no date set (2008)
Tours of
the Building
Often, reunion committees will call the
high school and ask if a tour of the building may be
included in their plans. We are happy to oblige whenever
possible, however, security concerns may make tours
difficult to arrange. Please call the main office at
201-794-5450 to make arrangements.
Unfortunately, tours cannot always be
offered. Activities in the school that involve students,
such as the administering of SAT and PSAT testing, require
both quiet and a level of security that does not permit
groups of visitors at these times. Additionally, tours are
led by volunteers, who may not always be available.
Long-range planning and flexibility of timing will improve
the chances that a tour can be given.
