The Ink and I, or,
IÕm History
It was hard for me to decide
between que sera, sera and something else.
So I decided to get them both. But one of them isnÕt done yet.
This is what itÕs going to look like:

|
Because É When I was ten years old
|

Trust me on this one, because
IÕve seen a lot over the last 50 years or so.
(I even remember seeing Elvis Presley on The Ed Sullivan Show.)

There has never been anything
like The Beatles.
The Beatles changed and grew.
Within a few years,
the members of the group separated and began their own careers.
John Lennon, who had co-written most of
The BeatlesÕ songs,
became very closely aligned with the Peace Movement.

One of his most famous songs
asked us to

As you probably know, John
Lennon was murdered.
It happened on December 8, 1980.
I heard the news on the radio
that morning. It was hard to imagine that it was true.
The words to the song mean a lot
to me:
Imagine
there's no heaven
It's easy
if you try
No hell
below us
Above us only
sky
Imagine all
the people
Living for
today...
Imagine
there's no countries
It isn't
hard to do
Nothing to
kill or die for
And no
religion too
Imagine all
the people
Living life
in peace...
You may say
I'm a dreamer
But I'm not
the only one
I hope someday
you'll join us
And the
world will be as one
Imagine no
possessions
I wonder if
you can
No need for
greed or hunger
A
brotherhood of man
Imagine all
the people
Sharing all
the world...
You may say
I'm a dreamer
But I'm not
the only one
I hope
someday you'll join us
And the
world will live as one
My mother, who died in 2002,
thought this was an incredibly beautiful song.

She loved the idea that all the
people of the world could share the common
hope and belief that one day thing will be better for all of us.
Imagine that.
